In the midst of a nationwide crisis, the tango band "Vecinos de Pompeya" tries to stay afloat in Buenos Aires. Hoping for a better life, bandoneon player Julio plans to emigrate to Germany with his daughter Paula and his mother Dorothea. Julio sets out to settle his last affairs in Buenos Aires - but he doesn't get away from the city quite so easily.
