35-year-old Margaret cannot control her exuberant temper. She assaulted her mother in an argument and had to be taken away by the police. Pending her sentence, a strict restraining order is imposed: Margaret is not allowed to have any contact with her mother for three months and is only allowed within 100 metres of the family home. Literally locked out, she is drawn back there all the more strongly and waits every day at this invisible and at the same time insurmountable border.
As before, Ursula Meier demonstrates a keen eye for fragile family structures and the human soul, its facets, abysses and inner turmoil. Stéphanie Blanchoud and Valeria Bruni Tedeschi are simply captivating.
