Biopic about the popular US television presenter Fred Rogers, who became famous for his children's series 'Mr. Rogers' Neighborhood'. Journalist Tom Junod is commissioned to write a portrait of the legendary children's entertainer. In the process, he learns to return to classic values like kindness and compassion and to overcome his cynicism. A friendship develops between the men.
